Collaborative Board Games
Collaborative board games are designed to encourage collaboration, teamwork, and cooperation. The games maintain the general structure of a traditional game while reducing the sometimes competitive and stressful nature of these activities. These games encourage group problem-solving, collaboration, cooperation, and flexible thinking. Oftentimes, players share “movers” on the board and are all involved in decisions made throughout the play. A few collaborative board games we recommend for various ages include: 3-5-year-olds:
Snug as a Bug in a Rug
Counting Chickens
Stone Soup
Monkey Around
Hoot Owl Hoot
5-7 year olds:
Race to the Treasure
Mermaid Island
The Fairy Game
Dinosaur Island
7-10 year olds:
Mole Rats in Space
Cauldron Quest
Gnomes at Night
